Hi, my name is Stephanie.
I just moved to Singapore (in Jan 2008 that is) after graduating from University of Melbourne, Australia. I spent 4 years in Melbourne to complete my degree in Commerce and I have to say that those 4 years were the best in my life so far. Should circumstances permitted, I would’ve stayed in Melbourne. However, I decided to come to Singapore to write a new chapter of my life here.
After struggling for 2.5 months in finding a job, I finally managed to get one. Indeed this 2.5 month period was a difficult one to go through. Never in my life I have to endure rejections after rejections. I broke down a few times (the kind of period where you feel so worthless and regretful of why you made the decision to move out of your comfort zone). However, never in my life I learned to really depend on God, not until now. True confidence comes from leaning upon God (and this doesn’t mean that you don’t have to do anything, Matthew 11:28-30).
I thought that my worries will disappear once I secured a job. Alas, even after signing my employment contract of acceptance, I’m still worried whether my application for Employment Pass will be approved or not! I have to constantly reminding myself to lean upon God. Anyway my worries will not increase the probability for my EP application approval. So I will have to learn to shift my perspectives, and be content to what has been given to me.
This blog will be dedicated to share my thoughts, experience as well as lessons learned upon the journey of my life. Hopefully this will be the start of something good ahead.
